The inspiration was the lighting in this photo of the two children at the beach - the reflections of the girls playing in the water, the way the morning light hit their dresses, the cross-section of the reflections of the girl in the white dress and the shadow of the younger girl in the red dress. I was also inspired and challenged to portray the whites which led me to purchase the Terry Ludwig lights. Using Pastel Ground added an element of depth to the waves.
