My inspiration for this pastel painting is the waterfalls that are located in the center of my small Vermont town. I am always intrigued by the ever changing appearance of the falls throughout the seasons and have taken many photos from all angles. The falls deserved a painting! My underpainting was Pan pastels with various soft pastel on top. I scratched into the top to create some contour lines showing the pan pastels colors underneath.
