Enchanted Marsh Twilight

The naturally dramatic colors of the ocean marshes in the southeastern United States are fascinatingly beautiful and lend themselves easily to the rich pigments in pastels. I rendered this piece using a vibrant reddish-purple underpainting using Richeson hand rolled and then achieved dark tones with Terry Ludwigs. From there, I used a big combination of unison, mount vision, Terry Ludwig and Diane Townsend. I mix them all up. My substate was UART.
