Ive been learning pastels for about 6-months now and during a visit to the gulf coast of Florida took a photo of the beach dunes overlooking the water on an early morning. I decided to paint it on uart 400 with Nupastel underpainting (wet down with water) and top layers with unison, Rembrandt and Mungyo soft pastels. I was encouraged by people on Cafe Monet fb to enter. My favorite part was capturing the light on grasses as the sun shined over the dunes from the left.
