Chico's Bidwell Park's Upper Park is remarkable for the massive boulders that the creek passes over and around. Only kids are allowed to fish in the park and it is rare to see them fishing up in the Upper Park. Finding this kid perched precariously on one of the boulders was too much to pass up. This pastel was started over 25 years ago and only brought to completion this year. It was painted on German Ersta sanded pastel paper, at one time the premier pastel surface.
