An abstraction inspired by the aurora borealis. I review my aurora photos to find an area that evokes a biomorphic shape, focus in on that, enlarging it, sometimes warping it, then adding noise. I start the painting with Rembrandt pastels on Fabriano Tiepolo paper, spray Sennelier fixative, then finish with Unison, Sennelier and/or Schmincke pastels. I spray a very light coat of Lascaux fixative to finish.
