This was set as a still life in my studio. I found the pink lemon fabric at a craft store and used it as my inspiration for the rest of the painting. I did a purple pastel and alcohol wash as an underpainting and then used soft pastels over the top. I did not have the correct shade of grey in a pastel for the silver bowl so I mixed black and white pan pastel to get the desired value.
