I used Nupastels for an underpainting, using isopropyl alcohol to wash it in. Then I used predominantly Terry Ludwig soft pastels, along with some Sennelier. My inspiration was a combination of sights seen nearby, memory, and photographs of marshes. My goal was to evoke a memory or feeling of familiarity and of calm in the viewer.
