These Volkswagen Karmann Ghias sit in a pasture near my home. Their shape and colors captivated me. I passed these cars for years, always thinking how much I wanted to paint them. So one day I pulled onto the property and asked the owner for permission to photograph them. He was amused and said many people had stopped to ask him if they could buy them but no one had ever asked if they could photograph them, let alone paint them.
