Avalon is an up close study of an apple blossom. I did this piece as a tribute to a close personal friend who created an organic apple orchard. It was a stunning place, a labour of passion and love. The piece was done in layers working up from dark to light, trying to create a very subtle value change in the petals as you gaze up the stem. It's all about the light, and warm and cool temperatures.
