I used soft pastels and Dark Charcoal colored Pastelmat. Working dark to light I slowly built on the composition developing the shadows and lights in the foreground. This beach is by my house and I'm always taking photos of the sunsets. This day I was taken by the long shadows in the foreground more than the start of a colorful sunset, so I focused on that aspect instead and had some fun with my shadow and lights colors.
