I love gardening. All flowers are magnificent creations, and I am fascinated with them all. The camellia is special to me because it blooms in winter when everything else is dead. This particular species, Victory, being white with a yellow/gold center and shiny bright green leaves, stands out against all the frozen, lifeless things that have lost their leaves. On the grayest, nastiest days it brings a smile to my face.
I cut this one from my yard and painted it with pastels on one of those cold, nasty winter days.
