Compliments of Mother Nature

Dry pastels have been my primary medium for about 35 years. Their immediacy and vibrancy have inspired many seascape/landscape/nature, still life, and floral paintings; even portraits on rare occasion. I’ve used every brand Dakota Pastels supplies and then some. I prefer textured papers, but the great variety of textures available blue today gives me even more possibilities to explore than it did 35 years ago. Compliments of Mother Nature came to be because of a neighbor’s beautiful apple tree on a bright summer day. I just couldn’t resist all that red-green glory against a bright blue cloudless sky.
